Halloween 08

This is Audrey at her school parade. It was the most beautiful day for Halloween I remember in many years. 70 degrees. She called herself a gypsy in this outfit she pretty much came up with on her own. It was actually one of her cousins old dance recital costumes and Troy added the wig for her. She also has huge gold earrings and a necklace and bracelet.

I was trying to get the full effect of the nemo costume. It was hard to get him to look. We got this costume for around $5 last year after Halloween at the Disney Store. I really miss that store at our mall by the way!!

So Wrigley had 2 costumes, so had to at least take pictures in both!!! This is a pirate costume that Troy got last year after Halloween as well but at Target. Guess we are bargain hunters!!!

So, I feel bad Audrey didn't have such a great Halloween. Although I had no idea when we saw her at the parade...she came home crying because her head and throat hurt. She said she told her substitute teacher once that she didn't feel good and he said.."oh, you'll be fine." Well, she had a 102.5 fever. So, she went to Dr. and got a throat culture and I will be surprised if it comes back negative. We can find out at 11:30 tonight.

So, I felt terrible for her because she was supposed to go to a Halloween Party one of her classmates was having. I knew she felt miserable though because she just laid on the couch and didn't put up a stink about not going.

Well.... I took Emersyn and Wrigley to some neighbors trick-or-treating and gave Audrey strict orders to stay on the couch and do not answer the doorbell if it rings.

When we got back she came out the front door and said so proudly, "I am all better". I looked at her and said I am sorry pumpkin but you are sick and can't go "trick-or-treating." She of course starting crying. She was just so convinced she felt fine and now could go. It melted my heart. In the end, she got her costume back on, we put on some silly face paint that she soooo badly wanted and she answed the door to our trick-or-treaters and then I did give in and let her go to some of our neighbors houses.

I feel bad I didn't get a picture of all of them together.

Emersyn went with her dad to Wizard of Oz at the theatre tonight after trick-or-treating. They had planned that while Audrey was supposed to be at her party.

Pumpkin Carving '08

Whoops!! I did the pics backwards, but am not taking the time to change them!!!
We carved pumpkins after school on Tuesday. I thought I should put these on before our Halloween pics from today. Been a crazy week. Wrigley has been sick with his second ear infection and cold and I had the stomach flu and now I think Audrey has strep. UGH!!! Hope this past month is not an indication of our winter.


It was quite interesting carving our pumpkins. Audrey would not touch any of the "guts". I had to totally clean hers out. Then while she was trying to cut her face she was still grossed out by any of the slime and kept asking if I could get her a pair of gloves!!! I guess she is really my "girly girl"!!!!
Emerysn on the other hand wanted to do it ALL!!! I'd say she did 95% of her pumpkin ALL BY HERSELF!!! She did a great job!!!



This was Wrigley hanging out during our carving!!! He was screaming and wanting out of his chair by the end of it!!!

Although I am happy with these pictures, I wish Wrigley would have been his normal smiley self!!! I had to wake him after he fell asleep in the car and we could not get him to smile.

My sister in law and brother in law leave this Thursday for China to meet their beautful little girl, Kathryn Grace. This picture of their luggage was on Terri's blog today with the captions Were coming baby girl ....mommy and daddy are coming!!! Something about it just tore at my heart and made my eyes fill with tears. I just can't imagine all of the emotions they must be experiencing right now.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they travel. Soon they will be a family of 4 after a very long wait!!!!

Creativity

A couple weeks ago Emerysn found this cardboard and decided it would make a good hat. I know this first pic is blurry, but I love her proud smile!!!!


She stapled paper to the top of it to make her hat. Sooooo creative!!!!! And I forgot sooooo beautiful!!!!:)
I am thinking she got this idea from Mrs. Nancy's birthday hats at her school!!!

Bath Fun

Emersyn was loving playing in the bathtub with Wrigley last week, so I HAD to grab the camera. Can never go wrong with bath pictures....(well actually, I guess as long and you don't get certain body parts!!!:)

Everyone got the flu last week except Wrigley and I. I hope we are in the clearing!!!!

October Snow

Yes, this is snow on my front yard. This is what is has been doing all day. I haven't left the house since church this morning. I have managed to talk myself out of going to the gym. I was even telling myself I would work out and then sit in the hot tub.....still haven't left the house. I am sooooo not ready for winter.

This is a tribute to those of you in much warmer, milder places!!!!

Kids these days!!

I just had to share what Emersyn said to me as we walked in from Early Childhood class this morning. She said, " So, are We all going to vote for Rock Obama?"!!! Where do kids pick these things up from?????!!! Just amazes me and I can guarantee it wasn't from her father nor I. I am not at a stage in my life where I honestly even pay that much attention to politics. I very rarely even have time to have the tv on. I know that is terrible with the economy and all the way it is right now.
I have a hunch it was from my mother who was at my house making phone calls to Chicago for the Obama campaign!!!!
She also said it like she is going to be voting too!!!!
So funny.

MEA getaway

I took the girls to a hotel in Rochester Friday night with a small kiddie waterpark area for our "mini" vacation for MEA break.

They had a blast swimming and just sleeping at a hotel.

Audrey had her good friend Alyssa who came with us. Unfortunately they are both really sick with the GI flu bug today.

This is Abigail, my friend Suzie's little girl. Suzie came with her 3 kids and swam with us and ordered out pizza. It was fun to see them and catch up. She is the one who lost her husband a year ago and we are both so busy we don't find much time for each other lately.

This was Emersyn at the end of swimming Friday night. She begged me to go and put her PJ's on and this was her sitting in a chair by the pool..more than ready for bed. She konked out very quickly once she was in bed!!!

Wrigley

Big funny smile!!! Wrigley is sooo happy most of the time. I feel blessed that way. I just wish he'd start sleeping better at night. Lately is up every night AT LEAST two times if not 3. I need to break down and make him cry, but is soooo much easier to get up and let him nurse and go right back to sleep!!!!

He likes this new toy Troy found for him at a garage sale.

He is officially on the move just this past week. He doesn't actually crawl, but scoots forward pushing with his back legs. Good thing my dad put our baby gate back up on the wall at the top of the stairs this week.

Fun Day at Vikings Game

My parents were up for a visit this past week and we went to a Vikings game. Although none of us are true Vikings fans, we had a fun time.

One of my coworkers has 11 Germain shorthair pups & invited us over to play with them.

They had a fun running all over after them and the pups loved it as well. They were biting at Emersyn's shirt and pants and licking Wrigley's toes!!! Of course I had to tell the girls prior to going there that we would not be bringing one home!!!
